Report of the IBP Makati Chapter

For the Period January to April 2014

The first trimester of 2014 was focused on firming up the groundwork that was laid down during the previous year by the Chapter. Recognizing the promise of its initial projects, the Chapter ensured that last year’s efforts would come to fruition and further explored new projects and activities for the current year. General Matters The Chapter opened the new year with a seven-man delegation to The Integrated Bar of the Philippines Annual Convention of the 21st House of Delegates which was held from the 23rd to the 25th of January 2014 at the Oriental Hotel, Legazpi City, Albay. During the three-day conference, the Chapter successfully renewed its ties with other IBP chapters from all over the country and established new linkages for future endeavors at the national level....

Report of the IBP Makati Chapter

For the Period September to December 2013

The third trimester of 2013 was an extremely active and meaningful period for the Chapter, with the Board of Directors strengthening past projects and moving forward with new and innovative ones. General Matters Following its participation in the National Legal Summit held in September 2013, the Chapter began efforts to balance the continuing obligation and duty of its members to support the IBP, with reasonable benefits available to its members, such as the exemption of members from the MMDA Number Coding Scheme, and the exemption of legal aid lawyers from fees and charges imposed by the courts. This “balancing of interests” also became the theme of some of the projects of the various Chapter Committees.
